The Beachcomber Motel

This place was an awesome surprise, a bit of serendipity that was most welcome. My son, German shepherd and I were traveling up the coast and lost track of time. We hadn’t really planned where we were going to stay, so looked this place up at the last minute. Everything was awesome. The staff were tremendously accommodating and friendly, even offering us a welcome “doggie bag” consisting of a blanket, treats and some doody bags. There are bike rentals, free coffee, and fire pits sat on the outside patio. Beautiful ocean views and an expansive beach and bluff for people and dogs to roam around freely. A diamond in the rough, can’t wait for a longer return visit. Thanks you!

We had a nice stay at the Beachcomber Motel, and overall it’s a pleasant place with a great oceanfront location. I called ahead knowing we would likely arrive late, and Cody at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. She made sure everything was set up for us, secured our room, gave us a discount coupon for a nearby restaurant, and even provided a printed list of local places to visit and eat. After a long travel day, that extra effort meant a lot — everything was already done for us, and we didn’t have to figure anything out. The room was nice, and the view of the ocean from our balcony was beautiful. The property has a charming coastal feel and is very well located. That said, for the price (close to $300 per night), there were a couple of disappointments. The shampoo dispenser in the shower was empty, which is something you wouldn’t expect at that price point. Luckily, I had brought my own. It was also quite noisy early in the morning, with doors slamming throughout the building, which made sleeping in difficult. Because of those issues, I’m taking off one star. That said, I really did like the place overall. A big thank you to Cody for going the extra mile — her customer service truly stood out. I am very pleased with my choice to stay here. I do not know what the price would be normally but for $215 the room was well worth it. The ocean views on the balcony were beautiful and I am sure the sunsets are even more so even though I did not enjoy it at the motel during this visit. The paths straight to beach behind the motel and the beach there were as beautiful as any other with the exception of the unique Glass Beach. The waves, breeze, fresh smells, vibrant natural colors....natue is more beautiful than anything man can try to artificially create. Lol anyways... The room was very clean and having the hot chocolate or coffee available for a walk was perfect. With a path straight to Beach Glass in about a .4 walk was too convenient for the visit. I was completely pleased with my stay. I would have to say it was my favorite of the four rooms I had for my trip to the Redwoods.

I rated low on room service because my husband and I were informed on arrival that there is no housekeeping while we have our room. Great location, on the oceanside. The rooms are nice.

Its a super location if you're traveling with a dog. Beach walking out back across a bike trail. Staff greeted us with dog biscuits and poop bags! They also have an enclosed off leash area and our room had a big jacuzzi tub (so great for humans too). Outside are gas firepits and tubs filled with beautiful succulents.

This motel offered comfortable beds, great location, hot shower, and other nice touches. Our dog was also super comfortable here. Paved boardwalk is right out back. Would recommend!

I love this place. A bit expensive but with the upgraded rooms and pet-friendly accommodations it can't be beat. The hiking and beach views/access is fabulous. Even with the rain & drizzle we had a wonderful time.

Awesome motel. Beautiful beach views. Friendly staff. Comfy beds. The soaps, conditioner, and lotion in the bathroom and sink area are in dispensers on the wall instead of little containers. This is nice because they actually have enough to not run out really quickly. There is a coffee machine with coffee pods (regular and decaf) and some english breakfast tea. They have more tea and coffee in the lobby. The tv has Netflix on it (you have to login) but not Apple TV+.
